Deming for Congress 2010
Dear visitor,
Thank you for stopping by to have a look at my web site. As of May 20,
2010, I am out of the race for the 7th Congressional seat of Colorado. I
still care very much about my country, and I am still worried that we are on the
path to economic ruin. For my parting thoughts, please have a look at the
speech below, which I gave at the 7th Congressional District Assembly on May 20,
2010.
Best regards,
Michael Deming
Final 2010 Campaign Speech:
Thank you Russ and Roger. I am honored to carry the torch for our common
principles. I, Michael Deming, am in this race to stop our country's slide into
economic ruin. I am the right person to represent the people of the 7th
Congressional District. I am qualified to hold this office. I am not going to
be changed by the Washington, D.C. machine into someone you do not recognize.
What are elections about? Elections are about trust. Delegates, didn't your
neighbors at the caucus trust you to vote for the best congressional candidate
on their behalf? Aren't your neighbors who did not attend the caucus--or who
are registered in the wrong party or no party--trusting that "somebody" is
looking out for them at the national level? That "somebody" is you.
Tonight, you can meet and even exceed the expectations of your neighbors'
trust in five simple ways.
How? Vote for the only candidate saying that every deficit dollar is a charge
on the national credit card--a debt that our children and grandchildren must
bear. Should we be paying interest to China and rapidly approaching the point
where we won't be able to afford some monthly minimum?
Vote for the only candidate trying to get our country out of Iraq and
Afghanistan--and who knows what's next?! Should the United States be the
world's police man? The Constitution does not authorize us to do so. Do we
really have the money for this anyway?
How again? Vote for the only candidate willing to go after the Federal Reserve
system. Should the Federal Reserve charge "we the people" interest on our own
money? Doesn't every dollar they pump into the system makes the dollars we
sacrifice to save worth less and less?
How can you exceed the expectations of your neighbors' trust? Vote for the only
candidate who wants to disband the IRS. Should your share of the tax burden
have ANYTHING to do with how much money you earn? Progressive taxation is
straight out of Karl Marx's "Communist Manifesto," and I, Michael Deming, take
that as a personal insult.
Should we seek temporary safety at the expense of liberty? Benjamin Franklin
said, "No." Isn't it about time you can take a bottle of water on a commercial
flight?! Our 4th amendment has been trampled. Why do we now have to prove our
innocence, rather that have it presumed? Isn't crisis-time when the
Constitution should be most closely followed? Vote for the only candidate
willing to heed Franklin's warning.
How many of you really know 2-term incumbent Democrat, Ed Perlmutter? Has he
been voting the way you would want him to at the U.S. Capitol? To take back the
7th Congressional seat, it is up to you delegates to elect a candidate who is
both worthy of Republican support and able to attract the unaffiliated voter.
Isn't putting forth the right candidate--a Republican people's candidate--how we
bring the incumbent home and defeat the powerful interests that want to keep him
in Washington, D.C.?
My name is Michael Deming. I would be honored to serve in Washington, D.C. on
your behalf and prove myself worthy of your trust.

Please ask your Congressman to:
|
As
your elected representative in Congress, I would follow a set
protocol with every bill that I submit or vote on. Every law
that comes my way would have to get past the following
questions:
-
Is it in
agreement with the U. S. Constitution?
-
Who would
profit if this law passed?
-
Have
lawmakers been given time to read the bill before voting?
-
Is there a
current law we could repeal rather than pass a new one?
-
How does
this bill affect my constituents?
Only when a bill got past those
questions would it have a chance of getting a “yes”
vote from me. Too many laws have been passed with sections
unrelated to the law's intent and hundreds of pages that no one
has even had the chance to read before voting. |
“Government is not reason;
it is not eloquent; it is force.
Like fire, it is a dangerous
servant and a fearful master.”
--George Washington
